I noticed that you keep starting or repsonding to post about Bed-Stuy. R u looking for someone to finally tell u its a great place so go ahead and move there?
Yes ,keep asking and u will find people who tell u that its a good/safe place but u must realize that for some folks, a neighborhood is good if there is not a killing a day or if they havent perosnally been robbed.
Bed-Stuy is hood,PERIOD!! Has been for a long time. If u found cheap rent trust me its for a reason. If u want a nice/safe place to live u have to come up in the cash department.

Also, I stated b4, Jefferson Ave and halsey run parrallel to each other.

Its not Iraq, its not even what is was in the 80's, mid 90's. But its still a place where many live right at or under the poverty line. ALso, the local schools are pretty bad which is usually indicative of a neighborhood. I grew up in Bushwick and just personallyas a guy in his 30's now I wouldnt move back to any of the areas again for free. Bushwick, Bed-Stuy, ENY, Brownsville, none of them!

I had friends who lived in Bedstuy. They were happy with the neighborhood, liked the location, thought the locals were friendly and liked their rent.

But they knew they were living in a high crime neighborhood. It was safe in the daytime, but they knew not to walk alone at night. though the subway was fine.

The neighborhood did not much in the way of interesting amneties, either. That said, if you're looking for a cheap place in NYC, it could work for you. Also different parts of Bed-Stuy might have a different character. I think other parts might have been nicer than where they lived.
