I live in Seattle and I like Seattle for the most part. However, I have to admit that New York City is by far the best city in the United States and NYC is also the best city in the world.

I have noticed that lots of people hate New York. Personally I just think they are jealous of New York and suffer from an inferiority complex. What do you guys think?

People who hate NYC, for the most part, are ignorant about NYC and all it has to offer. They generalize, make assumptions, and "think" things about NYC that aren't even remotely true.

As for those who "hate NYC"..... Buh Bye....... If you don't like it, LEAVE.

i dont think people who hate nyc are "ignorant" you have to keep in mind that some of us are born here and we've seen it all or have seen enough and grow tired of it. so for those who think that we who "hate"(i wouldn't call how i feel as nyc a form of hate just tired of nyc) are just making foolish "assumptions" by calling us ignorant.

I was born here, I hate the weather, that alone makes ma hate it.

We had more fun years ago when there were the "Mega Clubs" on the West side, not some prissy lounge.

Ugh over it already.... but then, I am much older so what is the saying....been there, done that.......

I think it's okay for people to legitimately hate New York prior to having a good reason. Like accidents, job losses and loss of house, having to leave for economy, weather conditions, police brutality, or getting mugged. Any of those reasons would be acceptable for any local to hate the city even though most of those are manageable.

However, I note whenever I go out of state that Californians and particularly people from Los Angeles have a thing out for NYC. People hate what they cant have any places like LA and SF wont ever amount to NYC's level.

I don't hate NYC, but I don't care about it either. The city lives its reputation pretty much on hype. Otherwise it's dingy, crowded with dirty streets and lanes. It does have quite a skyline from a distance, but it only flatters to deceive. I like the money, but then it's only allegiance to the Almighty dollar
