This belongs in the NYC threads. These aren't towns, they're areas of Brooklyn.

You'd get a lot more responses if you posted this thread in the NYC subforum.

Both neighborhoods have very high crime levels for NYC and I wouldn't recommend either at this point in time. Low rents might be attractive but both areas have lots of negatives that outweigh saving a few $ on rent.

I would not personally feel comfortable living anywhere in Bushwick. My impression of it is very low income and a bit "grimy." This is based on having relatives who live there and nervously visiting every once in a while.

Crown Heights is spotty. I lived in an apartment there that bordered Clinton Hill, and it was 100% fine. There is a very heavily Orthodox Jewish section that is also pretty safe, and a heavily West Indian section that is somewhat safe. But if you don't know the area, you can find yourself in a pretty bad sub-section.

if the OP isn't a joke, i'll be surprised. bushwick...are you serious? bro, the state shut down bushwick HS not too long ago. and, don't get sold some "e. williamsburg" joint, either. that's just code for bushwick these days. crown heights...read some of the other posts about that hood. my take, two kinds dominate crown heights...nasty ass hassids and thugs. if that's how you roll, you'll love it there

Bushwick and Crown Heights are the ghetto.

In Crown Heights a few nights ago a man was shot over 130 times by police. This was after he carjacked someone in Flatbush which resulted in a car chase as he tried to get back to his safehouse in Crown Heights. You have hassids living in the "decent" pockets of Crown Heights. We all know how hassids feel about outsiders. Then you have poor Blacks living in deplorable conditions, run down buildings.

As for Bushwick...
