Usually the Jan-Feb period is the worst for me, but its not that bad anyway. I have lived in much colder climates.

I feel it's very unhealthy also. The human body needs Vitamin D and the sun is a good source.

And last summer was so unbearably hot that I didn't even spend as much time outside as I normally like to.

How do you native NYers do it?? How do you stay sane in this depressing, dreary place?

I guess it's just a lack of motivation.....when it's freezing cold and grey out it seems much easier to just stay home.

We call our friend in Chicago. In comparison, the weather here, winter or summer, seems downright mild

It is depressing. I hate it also. I am headed West for retirement, that is the only thing that keeps me going.
Besides, I did all the fun things in NY already, and they are all gone now......

California is truly heaven on Earth.

I was in Miami for NYE I am assuming most of the women there move their for the sun. You can tell by their leathered, aged faces. Seriously they looked like 60 and they where only 25. Yikes.

wow its pretty obvious you dont get around much. If you think nyc weather is the worst how about you head upstate or go to the midwest.

My homegirl lives in ohio and its been snowing their since around Halloween.
