The last remaining element of Italian Harlem was centered around Pleasant Avenue and East 114 Street. They were still there early in the 1970s, but the last ones have since died.

I am not sure but I Know my mother grew up there in the 1940's and in the mid 1950's her family moved to corona queens. (which back then was all Italian- Corona)

That is denying your heritage.
Puerto Ricans speak Spanish.

I thought it was around the 80's but the 70's sound right the Italians moved out, but I think most of them live in Jersey now.

Spanish Harlem seems to be changing I see Asians & whites moving in

If you want to be Technical.

Spain is the country where Hispanicity has its origins.

Their nationality are hyphenated in this country. In their own country they would be descendants of Spaniard.

In Essence Spanish Harlem, Spanish language & descent.

This is the same exact thing I have been telling you.

Spainish Harlem = Speak Spanish & Spanish heritage

So Americans call them Spanish/hispanic
