My apt fridge is ok and i have asked the Landlord to replace it with a more enegry star rated refrigerator like a Samsung 28 cuft fridge model to hold more food items in the place

I find out in the morning if i can replace it ..So where is a good place to go in the City to find a really nice refrigerator for the place like a Samsung french door with the freezer on the bottom and they will deliver it and bring up to the apt ..

You could try PC Richards. I don't know about their fridge selection but they gave me good advice on an a/c and they delivered and installed (for a fee).

Best Buy would also be a consideration if you're in the market for a free-standing refrigerator like the one described. Installation is available, but is a separate fee from delivery.

You would need a specialist showroom or dealer for something more complicated like the counter-depth/built-in refrigerators as that's where you would find installers who are more proficient with a specific brand/range of refrigerators. I have had installation nightmares on specialty brands of appliances that were purchased at stores that sold multiple brands as the technicians did not have much experience with the particulars of the more unique offerings. It should not be a problem for a refrigerator, though.

Default Curtos

No disrespect but PC Richard is horrible. Clueless workers that try to slice and dice you like you were pulled onto a boat via a fishing reel. The sales guy selling fridges was selling cameras ten minutes and was cleaning the bathroom 20 minutes ago. Two experience with them and that went from bad to frighting.

The best buy selection sucks for NY apts as it is geared towards suburban middle American living in a 3000 SF house. Like much of the people in middle America all of the appliances in Best Buy are big fat and dumb and would not fit into a NYC apt.

Try a local place in Yonkers called Curto's. They specialize in Apartment sized appliances and have a wonderful selection with prices that absolutely stomp anything from the big box blowhards. The people that work there are very sharp. Ask for Frank as this man is a true gentlemen.

Watch out for Samsung appliances. They are known as "homing pigeons" in the industry as they are always return to the warehouse after they fail to operate in the clients home after a few months. If you are going small on the fridge try Fisher Paykel. This is a better appliance than the Samsung.

Curious, wnose paying for the fridge, you or the LL?

In any event, if you know what you want, why not search online for the best deal?

If not, do the research. There are a multitude of resources, from consumer research to epinions to Amazon.
