I just reapplied again bc I turned a year and I make more than I was making last year. This past year, I was a N4 W3 priority but this time, they sent me a letter stating that I am N4 W2. I had to reapply again after receiving that letter bc I decided to include my grandmother to live with me and my child. I know by doing this, I might get a 2 bd apt instead of 1 bd apt. Does anyone know how much longer I have to wait? (So tired of living at very OVERCROWDED house! )
I have a question,I live in farrockaway queens and applyed for NYCHA due to bad circumstances,I recieved a letter Back from them about 19 days later saying it was reviewed...does that mean I will be recieving an interview soon?
No, it just means that they received it... did it had priority codes like n1, n2, W1,W2.... if it did, that means that your probably been put on a waiting list for an interview...
I read all of the posts and I'll tell you my story. I applied in April 2009 and I was 4 months pregnant, a letter was sent to me on July 2009 asking me if I was still interested the letter was also with a list of developments and immediately said yes and sent it back to them. In about three weeks they sent me a letter with an interview for September 2009. My daughter was already born so I took my paper work and hers. In about a month after the interview after their backround check they sent me a list of vacant apts in certain developments and I selected one that I knew and liked. In December 2009 the development sent me a letter that I was placed in their development waiting list until a one bedroom would be vacant. I do remember writing two letters to NYCHA in downtown cause my daughter was asthmatic and the building I lived in people smoked alot. I think this helped alot because they called me in November 2010 if I was still interested and I moved in December 2010. I hope my story helps cause I know it could be very frustrating.
Thanks @jasnery , Well I applied November 30th 2012, received a letter on December 24th 2012 saying that my interview was for January 24th 2013. The lady on the call center phone line said she has never seen someone get an interview so fast. I am n1 though, and according to nycha's website N0, N1, N2, and N3 I believe are all emergency applicants that get manually selected for an interview. @citygrl13 it took me a month to get the interview letter and another one for the actual interview so 2 months.
