The birthers are an embarrassment to the GOP. Why should Obama give them the long form they seek and ruin a good thing?

Bloomberg is a big mistake for New York City.

I rank him right down there with Dinkens as the biggest disappointment since the time I was a kid and discovered that ice cream cones aren't filled all the way to the bottom.

Wow jcoltrane...it has already been established that he is a citizen...it has also been established we breathe air, the earth is round, and gravity exists. So what you are saying is, unless YOU personally can verify this to be true, or whomever you deem qualified to verify this, then it is suspect at best? People who have already verified this, people whose jobs it is to verify these things, and who are trained to judge and reveal these issues, and other facts, are just making things up and are not credible? And furthermore, why is it NOW a question, but never before? Have you personally verified Bush's birth certificate? Using your logic, we should have otherwise he is suspect.

Is that the standard now? There are no truths unless YOU personally, or the crazy person you deem worthy, verifies it as true? Jcoltrane...you may say you are a man..but I don't believe you unless I personally verify that you have a penis and no vagina...therefore regardless of what you say..it is irrelevant, nobody believes that you are a man and are therefore classified as unknown gender. Welcome to your crazy world.

Not at all.

This started back when it was Obama v. Hillary and was a story that was spread around as part of a campaign tactic. The reason they do those sorts of things in the first place is because they know there are a lot of gullible people out there who will believe just about anything without stopping to think about whether or not it makes sense.

This one really doesn't make any sense.

Not only doesn't it make sense, what's more interesting is that WE KNOW THAT JOHN MCCAIN WAS NOT BORN IN THE STATES...yet nobody even brushed the topic of his eligibility to be President. Why is that? He was born in the Panama Canal, supposedly on a military base under US jurisdiction.

Why would this not be an issue during the campaign? Why were "Birthers" not clamoring to see someone's birth certificate who we KNOW FOR A FACT was not born in the US???? The hypocricy here and agenda by these loonies is ricidulous.

Fact Checker - John McCain's Birthplace

You want to worry about someone's eligibility to be President, start with the one we KNOW wasn't born here. Why choose the one we already know WAS born here and then flip the script and act like "we aren't sure."

You have to admit, there's something humorous about Mike Bloomberg showing such concern for the Republican Party--to which he had never belonged in his life until accepting the GOP nomination for Mayor. And he didn't even do that out of conviction--it was the only one available to him, so he latched onto it.

"you dont sound very smart"

Thanks for the rep points to the courageous anonymous poster that left the comment above. I'm probably not very smart wasting time trying to debate with people that can't recognize a cover-up when it's right before their eyes. Obama could easily end this if he chose to do so. He chooses not to end it, and so it goes on.

The good thing being his status as President? I'm not a Repubublican and gave no credence to the birther story for a long time until it became obvious that something is being covered up. The longer this drags out, the more people will begin to wonder why. Obama needs to end it, one way or the other. This issue is growing, not going away. It's too late to lightly dismiss it with "move on, nothing to see here." It doesn't help calling 'birthers' imbeciles, stupid, etc. Name calling is resorted to when you don't have any real answers.

This is not the politics forum. What is the relevance to NYC? The mayor was speaking to a party platform, not just the NYC Republicans. If there's a NYC issue, then please continue the discussion; otherwise, it's for another forum.

And as an FYI, as in the poitics forum, abusive rep comments are deemed personal attacks as are DMs.

My apologies, quite correct. I will shift my windmill chasing to the main birther thread.
