I always find questions like this one to be stupidly ignorant; or, at best grossly limiting.
The entire city is the answer.
Transplants appear so narrow in their thinking and experience, as if being young precludes one from experiencing, for example, The Blue Note in the Village, The Carlye on the UES, a dump with a band in Williamsburg/Greenpoint, a homey Italian place with great gravy inPark Slope, a nice French place on Court in Cobble Hill, Uncle Geoge's in Astoria, the revolving restaurant at the Marriot in Times Square, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera....
Everything and every place is just a subway or taxi ride away!
