pants under their hips showing their butts
to the world, like that's cool or something.

I hear ya, it's unfortunate, where are you moving?

people make way less money outside of
nyc, even tho the cost of living is lower;
so everyone's kinda stuck where they are.

most of the time higher nyc salary is not enough to compensate for it's much higher cost of living
I mentioned this b4 somewhere but basically you might be getting 1.5 times more than you would get somewhere else, but the cost of living is 3 times more so you're still in the minus at the end

I've been there only half a dozen times but find it's nicer than Paris. NYC could be made nicer if something could be done to reduce the automobile population while increasing off-street parking and eliminating on-street parking. Maybe imitating Chicago's downtown with the two-tiered roadways.

lol so you're still better off making less and living somewhere else.

correct
unless you're a big baller, shot caller and your job pays extremely well and that job is unique to NYC (wall street or banks, etc) then you have a reason to stay, but that's only true for a tiny amount of people
average person is better off somewhere else, while a poor person is way better off somewhere else
NYC is the worst place to be poor in America, I don't even know what makes these people stay, not like they can enjoy the NYC perks anyway so they're basically paying premium but get noth back except a sh1t QOL

This been mentioned b4, but what you guys as NYers think bout moving to Philly area? Might be wrong cuz I haven't been to Philly yet, but for a NYer, it seems like a nice choice, since you can still be close to your home city while having a much more comfy living. Both PA suburbs and South Jers is really affordable while Philly is still a major city with all the appropriate amenities that one is used to in NYC (culture, night life, etc) Many people choose to go to places like NC or FL, but I don't see the point when you got affordable life right here in NE and you don't have to leave your whole lifestyle behind.
