I'm looking for a furnished private studio or one bedroom for one month with a move in date no later than June 1. I have been searching on craigslist for the last week with no luck and the agency I contacted asked for half a months rent for a one month rental. Does anyone have any advice on finding a sublet on such short notice? Looking for something in East/West/Greenwich Village, Soho, Gramercy, or Union Square. Does anyone have any advice or know any other sites that would help me?

Thanks

You've given good examples of where you would like to sublet, but we really can't help you without knowing your budget?

Sorry, but in my opinion, no New Yorker in his right mind would sublet to you for a month. The money the person would earn is simply not enough to warrant both the risk and the bother of the paperwork, if the person is in a conventional apartment building. This is why hotels exist. If you're young enough and desperate enough, maybe you can find a student who's willing to let you room with him for a month (also Craiglist, but a different section).
