Congratulations on selling your car. Once your here I highly recommend Zipcar.com for those rare occasions when you need a car to get out of the city. They are far more convenient then the traditional car rental companies.

So, yes, it was definitely below blue book, but I was just SO excited to be able to sell the thing.

With the economy the way it is, I didn't see someone from craiglist coming to my house with $34,000 to buy my used car.
I've heard conflicting opinions on CarMax and other companies of their ilk, but yeah, used cars in that price range are a challenge to sell privately, especially in a soft market. That's why it's much more common for people to just take the bath trading in an expensive car. Buyers figure if they're going to spend that much, they could easily just go beat up the dealership for a deal on a brand new one. Craigslisting a $5-7k (or cheaper) car, on the other hand, is a piece of cake.
