I think there have been a few of these, but I just heard about it.

Councilman Daniel R. Garodnick is hosting a panel on bedbugs:

Thursday, May 26
6:30–8:00 p.m.
MS 104 Simon Baruch School Auditorium
330 East 21st Street (between First and Second Avenues)
For more information, call Garodnick's office at (212) 818-0580

(I can't go, so if someone here does, I hope you let us know anything of interest.)

One of my neighbors put a sign up in the elevator basically saying, "We have bedbugs in Apartment XX" and urging anyone that shares a wall with them to be very careful and to inspect all their bedding.

I thought that was pretty nice of them and not something I would have expected most people to admit.

It would be nice if LANDLORDS did the same. But landlords are affraid of the effect on their rent rolls so they often try to keep infestations a big SECRET and go into DENIAL.
Secrecy and Denial are the bedbugs' best friend.

My managemment company said that if they got a bedbuggy apartment, they automatically treat each bordering apartment. The critters easily squeeze under drywall and molding.

If I ever got them I would go stir-crazy!
