I would spend about $500. Easy. Now i prepare foods (Still not "Cooking per SE) and rarely go to bars/clubs. Big difference for sure! A movie or museum here and there. Summer makes it easier as the beach is free

When you go out for a night on the town...the money seems to fly out of your wallet here in NYC. be firm and set a limit for the "fun" expense.

I'd say maybe $150–200 a month? Though, I'm not really the clubbing type, I'd rather spend a relaxing night at home.

I don't like spending money. I usually take my girl bowling or out to eat. If not that, then we eat at my house. Order food or make something at home.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

I'm going to be living in Brooklyn for pretty cheap ($900, with three roommates) and netting around $60k a year, all benefits covered by work, no debt to pay, so I have a lot of wiggle room with going out and spending money. I'm not much of a clubber and not really into super expensive restaurants or anything like that. Mostly just going to be getting a lot of coffees, beers, and pizza, plus going to museums, seeing movies, etc.
