Wasn't the Big A on Merrick across from the Rosedale Lanes Bowling Alley? I remember eating there with my family and playing with the table juke box while waiting for our food to be served. That place was always busy.

I remember the McDonalds also on Merrick before it moved closer to Rosedale Lanes and became sit down. I remember it being a walk up to order and sitting in the car with my family eating.

Was it Green bus line or the Jamacia Bus Line. Didn't that crash take place near Rockaway blvd. I remember sitting on my friends stoop and hearing the same thing thinking that it was thunder. Later when watching the new finding out it was a plane crash.

I seem to remember the Jamaica Bus Line being the Red Buses and then there was the Green Bus Line too. We always refered to the two bus lines as the Green Bus Line and the Red Bus Line. Was the Green Buses considered the City Bus Line?

Yes the Crash was near Rockaway Blvd. It was right behind those houses near Brookville (just past 147th).

The site of Costco now is what used to be the Lawrence movie theater.

TSS was where Burlington coat factory currently is.

Across the street is the 5 Towns shopping center, which has a brief appearance the film "Goodfellas." I remember a Mays department store over there for a while.

,,, and I just remembered, back behind where Costco now is, a golf driving range my father also used to practice at and would bring me along.

There was a garbage dump or something back there, and I can remember the place always stinking of methane gas.

I also remember when people used to use the swamps down on Brookville Blvd as garbage dumps. I remember my father stopping there to throw paint cans into the swamp. I don't know how they ever managed to clean it all up, but I bet even today there's multiple layers of sludge and toxins in the mud under the water.
