Real Housewives will tell you what products you should buy, from what type of wine to buy, to where to go on vacation.

And usually the hottest that start in NYC affects the rest of the country and world.

And when I say latest trends i mean something Carrie Bradshaw would be into.

SITC is for petty tourists, and is probably the worst thing that has happened to NYC with the exception of 9/11. The resulting influx of vacuous poseurs and douche-bag hipsters thanks to that pathetic show has caused more damage to the character of this city than anything I've ever seen.

If I get asked once more by random people I meet outside of NY "IS life in NYC really like SITC???" I am going to hunt down Candace Bushnell and crap down her throat... FOR FREE....

Seriously, find a personality and a spine: wear what ever the **** you want and eat wherever the **** you want regardless of what other wannabe's say. Otherwise you're a goddamn sheep. NYC eats sheep for breakfast ALIVE. NYC it embraces the brave who start trends rather than follow them and rejects those who lack the balls to do so.

Wow that's so easy! As a native new yorker (born and raised), I would say, instead of wearing and buying things that Carrie Bradshaw would do, you must now go out and do all of those things she did on the show.

The show is called Sex and the City, right? So you must come into the city, and have sex with as many men as humanly possible. And now you have your Sex, and your City. How great is that, now you can really feel like Carrie Bradshaw!

Whoops I missed that part

You can still have sex with as many men as humanly possible, Chelsea is a great neighborhood for that! Always remember, use protection!

Pretty powerful television.
If you want to meet those crazy women that want to be horse-face Carrie Bradshaw, you have to go to the PurseBlog forum, a co-worker told me about this and apparently the women are all crazy, catty, and even mortgage their house so they can buy a pair of shoes. Perfect types. I hate America.

No.

Manolo Blahnik was a very highly regarded shoe designer that already had a huge following. What SATC did was make tens of thousands of girls want them and make them difficult for those of us to get that already worshiped at the alter of MB.

SATC didn't go into a place until after it was already on the cutting edge, became too trendy, then abandoned. Meatpacking district? Way before Samantha's time.

To find out what is going on, read the times, TONY, New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Village Voice, and eGullet or chowhound.

SATC had a mass appeal to millions of women because it was a time in our lives when we were making more money than men, we had power, and we enjoyed life. It was also refreshing to see women acting how women really act around each other.

No one is an exact Carrie, Miranda, Samantha, or Charlotte but what made it appealing was that we all have a little of each of them in us.

Seriously, even though I am born and raised in NYC, I never saw the appeal of wanting to live that lifestyle that those girls did. And talk about unrealistic! I admit, some of the episodes are funny, but that's about all I can say about the show.

I guess I just don't get it.

I recommend 'Time Out New York' magazine.
