Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. My husband and I are moving to NYC next June. I'm already looking for jobs and need help finding a good recruiter. I'm an Executive Assistant working for a CFO at a company with over 12,000 employees. I currently make $112K with over 16 years experience and need to find a comparable job in Manhattan as a Executive Assistant. I've looked at Ladders.com and other job boards but the reviews are very poor. Are jobs hard to find right now? How long do you think it will take to find something. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks!

I'm calling troll post.

Who in their right mind would be leaving a 112k job?

Someone who is moving to a different city, apparently.

Absolutely. You're leaving a well paying job in a location that is probably cheaper to live to relocate to nyc? I'm guessing you are middle aged. Why would you leave at this point in your life? What compels you to live in ny? The job market here is awful, even for professionals like yourself.

I'm leaving because my husband has accepted a new job there. I'm 43 years old and leave in the Mid-West. I'm looking forward to NYC.

Network! Does the executive you currently support have any business/ personal/ recruiter friends or connections in NYC? I'm sure a CFO or other execs at your company would have better leads for you than city-data, especially if you've done your job well.

Must be a great job. A Midwestern nyc23? Good luck. The odds of you finding something in that range is doubtful.
