They will be easy targets from residents that live along the A line such as howard beach, ozone park, east ny and brownsville, sure hipsters will be easy pickings.

Forget about the other neighborhoods on the A-Line, what about Far Rockaway itself. Those kids from Edgemere, Hammels, Arverne and Red Fern don't play. But to live in the Rockaways!?! Dag, you know they'll do anything to live in NY.
The article makes it sound like surfing is new to Rockaway. It's always been there and at some point it was legal during the months of Sept., Oct. Nov. in certain sections. below 90th Street. Stores there always open during the summer months. The question is whether they will remain open throughout the year and stay. The article also claims it is an easy commute. Not. Especially in the winter. I hope the claims in the article are true and that it revitalizes the peninsula, but I am skeptical.
I'm definitely not a hipster, but I would also love for the Rockaways to return to its summer cottage glory. I would go now if I could find an affordable rental. The Hamptons are awful and without a car, I can't get to the quieter parts of the Jersey shore.
That can't be serious. There is absolutely nothing cool about the Rockaways whatsoever. It is a complete dump. It's also about as far from Manhattan as you can possibly get while still being in NYC.
