has anyone ever seen anyone take a bike on that path where you get on the Major Deegan in Van Cortlandt park via a staircase (I know it's closed but the path can be accessed simply by climbing up the grass)? you get there by taking the Bx greenway path from the golf course parking lot

the path runs along the SB lane of the Deegan, runs along in back of the gas station on the Deegan and ends up winding around at the SB Deegan entrance at E 233rd street before it dumps you around E 233rd street and Jerome Ave

i think i once heard that bikes are not allowed on this path. what are the chances of getting cited for taking a bike on the path? is it a criminal offense or is it just a ticket given by a park ranger?

i ask because this is by far the quickest way to get to Woodlawn from Riverdale(and not too hilly either)
