I'm considering to move to Queens after living on LI for my entire life. I'm in my mid-20s and would preferably like to move to a place with a sizable young population. On LI I feel like I'm the only young person here, no friends, nothing, so I feel a move should be in place.
I work in Plainview (eastern nassau) so I don't want to go so far west into the city, but some part of eastern Queens I think might do. Any suggestions?
And I have to ask you this but what is your ethnicity? Queens can be very racially/ethnically segregated and most people seem to feel more comfortable being around some people who share the same ethnicity..
I commute from Astoria to RVC its definitely doable with the reverse commute. The Whitestone and Cross Island fly in the morning and afternoons.. but not sure how it is going east on the Grand Central or LIE past there.
Id look into Forest Hills or Kew Gardens.. at least you still have access to the subways and lirr.
