Default i managed to get myself to the post office

this AM. i was told the person mailing it would have to go the post office for postage after i bought it. next day svce is also almost $20. not worth the hassle bothering a coworker for that. i will just ask them to drop my check in the mail and it will be sent to me thru the regular mail.

all this because my employer does not offer direct deposit...

Bank of America lets you withdraw I know for a fact at least $100 from a check that you've deposited. I have a Bank of America account but I hardly put anything it because the only reason I have it is to make payments on my Bank of America credit card. When the bill is due, I just deposit some money into the checking account and then make an online transfer to pay the credit card. So I always have nothing in there. I have deposited a $500 check ATM deposit on a Saturday evening and withdrew $100 immediately after I deposited it. I think you can withdraw even more but I'm not sure of the exact amount. So he will have access to at least some of his money soon as he gets the check and deposits it.

Default Boa

gives you $100 if you deposit the check in an ATM but not if you go to the teller

since i would be depositing a check drawn on a NY bank in a Georgia BOA ATM i'm sure there will probably be a hold on the rest of the funds

You seem to be rather useless without this money. Why don't you simply wait until you can deposit your check in NY and head south. What's the point of showing up with nothing to contribute? Furthermore if you have a real job there are sharks that will advance you money against future paychecks. I mean, if your mother is in really severe trouble you need to get off the pot here.
