BoCoCa is all strollers (it's not as well known as kid-ville as Park Slope, but it is almost as bad, I think the parents just aren't as obnoxious about it here). If I were single, I'd stay away from BoCoCa, Park Slope, Prospect Heights, etc. Also, I think Fort Greene is overrated, but that's just me, some people love it but I don't get it (the main streets just aren't that nice).
At your price point, I'd check out Greenpoint and East Williamsburg along the L.

Totally. Williamsburg and Greenpoint are the two most happening singles areas of Brooklyn. The easy access Lower East Side, East Village and beyond via the JMZ or L train means the options for nightlife are virtually endless.
