Very efficient use of space but I don't like that he has to share the bathroom with 3 other people. Gross.

While still cramped and not for the claustrophobic, that's leaps and bounds better than the first unit. She at least has her own bathroom and the bed is lofted, creating a little more space.

I can't say I'd live there, but I think I'd be fine crashing there for a weekend or something. Probably not the first one, though.

It's just amazing what people will spend, and what they will sacrifice just to say hey " I live in Manhattan"

Maybe it's not to SAY "I live in Manhattan"..... maybe it's just to LIVE in Manhattan (without 4 or 5 room mates!)

I read about that on NY Daily News. So glad I'm not squandering a fortune on rent for a walk-in closet. I love the city, but there's no way in hell I'd fork over $800 for such little space.

Anyone care to guess which is bigger - this apartment or Bernie Madoff's prison cell?

The impressive thing is the modifications he's made to his closet/bed using his carpentry/architecture skills. He could get a huge 1 bd or studio for that price elsewhere with good subway access to where ever he loves to spend his time.

But hey, whatever floats your boat.
