I have my learner's permit and am currently learning to drive but I need more practice with U turns and other stuff. I want to get down the basics before I'm gonna be out on the road with other cars.

WHERE CAN I FIND EMPTY PARKING LOTS IN BROOKLYN?
I only know of the Kohl's parking lot but there's other cars there.

Perhaps a school parking lot on the weekends?

I believe the target parking lot in college point queens would be absolutely dead after eleven on any given day. Perhaps find an off-the-beaten-track parking garage and go there early in the morning or late at night.

Do not practice driving in empty parking lots, that's terrible. If you have a permit, your instructor, paid/friend/family, should have you learning ON THE ROAD.

There are still plenty of quiet streets for this to happen, especially on weekend mornings.

My first time driving, I went to the Parking lot in Forest park, and also the "Hole" area by the East New York/Howard Beach area.

Try Greenpoint by the twin tanks. Wide streets and not much action on the weekends. Schools here are older than cars; they do not have parking lots.

Floyd Bennet field. That's where I went to practice my driving.

I disagree.... Why be on the road when you are first learning? I think an empty parking lot is a great place to learn to control the pressure on the pedal, how to park, etc. I would prefer new drivers do that than just go straight to the road before they are comfortable. It's like training wheels! Then you move to the road.
