This weekend I will be flying into the city for an interview. I'll be hitting up the usual tourist sites over the weekend, then Monday I have an interview in Westchester county (New Rochelle, specifically). It looks like my destination is a little farther than walking distance from the train station in New Rochelle (at least according to Google Maps when set to "public transit" settings), so I was wondering what the best way to travel to/in that area is. Will a taxi from the city drive me all the way out there? (My hotel is in the Wall St. area.) Are there taxis in New Rochelle that I could take from the train station? Thanks in advance for the advice.
And slightly off topic, but if anyone can think of good off-the-beaten-path sites of interest, Manhattan or Westchester, that would excite a history buff, I would appreciate your input.
