As the post title say's for those who lived in another place what do you like about the City .
here is my basic list of thing's i love about the city
-I love the fact that i can walk anywhere & take the subway any
-I can shop 24 hour's in the city
-I get food anytime delived to the house no mater what the hour
The food is about the only thing I would put over Colorado, which is the only other place I have lived for a significant enough amount of time to compare the two. Everything else, Colorado blows NYC away hands down. NYS as a whole is a great place and I probably will never leave it, but when it comes to the City I don't see much worth the hassle of dealing with living here anymore.
But after growing up in another city, I've noticed a few things. For example, things that are just considered average or normal anywhere else is considered a luxury in NYC. A neighborhood with low crime, decent schools, good neighbors and enough parking spaces will cost you double or triple almost any where in the 5 boroughs in comparison. Also, a 1-2 hour commute anywhere is just considered "normal" and realistic, but just about anywhere else that amount of time is just absurd.
My likes include the fact that there's always something to do.

All of this plus a variety of food to choose from. Public transportation is high on the list though.
After having been forced into exile as a teenager, I threw off the shackles of suburbia and came home to the city. In doing so, I gained a new appreciation for the anthropological reason cities exist (which happens to be true): they're centers of convenience. And you can't do better than NYC.
