I LIKED the post...it seemed real!

And all the King's realtors and all the King's landlords cannot put the area back together again.

Some areas of NYC really SUCK and that is a fact that some do not want to hear.

Yes there are gangs...even if realtors say they don't exist. Yes there are Hellholes.

And the OP told his story as he sees it.

Okay, question OP: since you seem to have an in, do you know what's going on in the 79th precinct area of Bed Stuy at all? I live on Nostrand a couple blocks down from the G, and not 2 weeks goes by without hearing shots; sometimes shootings will happen within a couple days of each other. Always happens in the evening too; both before and after sundown.

What confuses me is that I rarely, if ever, hear stuff going on in the distance; it always sounds like it's in a 2 block radius of where I live. Dunno if I'm just in a bad spot right now with some rivalry going on or what, but I'm sure you know the feeling you get when thinking about stray bullets. What's usually going on when stuff like this happens? Because apparently things were decently quiet up until a few months ago, too.

C'mon people..he's like me!

He is not a police officer like Hustla was. He is just a young guy who lives in the hood. Why doesn't anybody ask me these kinds of question?

Seriously.

Basically, Brooklyn hoods are more black than the Bronx. Since blacks commit most of the murders in the country, their hoods murder rate become some sort of killing fields (East NY, Brownsville, Bed Stuy, Crown Heights). Brooklyn hoods are also usually more populated. In other words, the precincts cover much more area. Bronx hoods on the other hand are about 50%-80% hispanic, 20%-50% black. The only exception is the north-east Bronx, which is about 90% black, and to no one's surprised, the murder capital of the Bronx.

The Bronx gives you a higher chance of getting robbed and assaulted, while in Brooklyn you are more likely to be murdered....just in terms of the hoods.
Of course its a bigger borough and some areas are homogenous like north williamsburg mostly hipster while borough park is mostly jewish. Areas like canarsie is AA and wi expect trouble or an area like coney island with AA and russians and some hispanics, expect trouble.

Because he understands the concepts of personal branding and self promotion! Ask him for a link to his twitter account too.

Go ahead and make your own thread offering to answer hood questions and I am sure people will ask you questions too.
