I am thinking about going to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens next Saturday, other than the Terrace Cafe in the Gardens are there any places in the neighborhood where I can eat?

There's The Islands restaurant on Washington Ave. and Tom's diner around there. Lots of Caribbean food in the area if you're interested in that.

The area around the Garden/Museum is a culinary wasteland. When we go to the Botannic Gardens we plan on eating in Manhattan. Once upon a time we looked forward to the Middle Eastern Restaurants on Atlantic Ave between Brooklyn Heights and Cobble Hill vicinity...but they are mostly all gone now.

Thanks Kefir King...I Googled The Islands restaurant that FOReverxpeace recommended and it looks good. I spend enough time in Manhattan I wouldn't mind finding a new place to eat in Brooklyn...especially a Caribbean place since I am Caribbean ;-)
Any other recs are more than welcome...I especially want places that are hidden gems :-)

Let us know if you like THE ISLANDS.
Although not exactly the Botannic Gardens neighborhood, for a terrific Fish and Chips in an English pub-type settting, try THE ATLANTIC CHIP SHOP on 129 Atlantic between Clinton and Henry. It's REALLY good fried fish...choose your variety.

I definitely will let you know what I think of The Islands. My dad is a BIG fish and chips fan so I want to try The Atlantic Chip Shop and take him :-)
Any other culinary choices...I don't mind traveling, that's what my MetroCard is for :-)
