I visited Bensonhurst in 1979 because my dad lived there. Outside the 18th Avenue/64th street stop on the N line, we ate at a great diner/restaurant that had a fabulous shrimp salad on rye

Is this place still there today? or does anyone know of it?

J+V Pizza?

I don't think that they have a fabulous shrimp salad on rye but maybe on the pizza or in the calzone?

Plenty of diners, there were some restaurants but nothing that one can rave about.

agreed, that's why I cant remember any. I have been living here in Bath Beach for the last 22 years, and of course knew the hood all my life.

diners yes.

actually the new Diner on Cropsey and Shore is re-opened, and actually pretty decent. Sunday breakfast is freaking packed....
