looking to possibly move out of manhattan and want to know more about the bronx and queens. Im fairly familiar with brooklyn but not with the other 2. Im just looking for a relatively safe neighborhood with easy access to the trains to manhattan/midtown/village etc.
The kind of neighborhood you are probably looking for will be closer to Manhattan in Queens but also more expensive. In the Bx you will find rock bottom rents but will likely be a further distance from midtown, village, etc.
There are many safe areas. Your budget and appetite for commute (15 minutes vs 40 minutes+) is a factor. Are you looking for any particular characteristics (families, proximity to restaurants/shops, certain cultures, hipster, yuppy, etc)?
no just wanting to know the areas that everyone would consider safe. Ill do research from there to see where I can afford and if the commute is reasonable. But if you know of an area that is super safe but has terrible access to the trains Id like to know. Thanks! Not really concerned with anything else but safety! I can take the train to do anything else.

The "safest" neighborhoods in The Bronx are probably Riverdale, Woodlawn, Country Club,City Island,Pelham Bay,parts of Throg's Neck and Morris Park/Pelham Parkway/Pelham Gardens. The only ones with really good subway access are Pelham Bay,Morris Park and Pelham Parkway.
Super safe but not good subway access ? Riverdale and Woodlawn.
It sounds like you are very open. So I would add Brooklyn to your list as well. You can also have very convenient access to Manhattan from there.
In terms of Queens, I would say safe/convenient: Astoria, Sunnyside, Rego Park, Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Briarwood, parts of Jackson Heights, etc. For safe area not really convenient, the first that comes to mind is Maspeth and Middle Village as well as a lot of norther Queens like College Point.
