Sadly my favorite pizza place closed down (RIP Ray's on Prince... )- I hear Johns on Bleeker St. is good but I haven't been. You can get a good dog at Gray's Papaya, Papaya King, Shake Shack and Crif Dogs. I would avoid hot dog food carts, they're OK for a quick lunch if you're starving but not even close to the best dogs you can get in the city (there are also some food sanitation issues with hot-dog water being old and moldy).

As for reasonably priced shopping, it depends on what you're looking for- shoes? Clothes? handbags? knock off purses for cheap (Chinatown has that)?

Oh, and since NYC pizza was mentioned, I felt obliged to provide the OP with this great video snippet Me Lover's Pizza with Crazy Broad - The Daily Show with Jon Stewart - 06/01/11 - Video Clip | Comedy Central

Trust me, it's funny.

I'm a fashionista so I will be looking for all the above. We'll probably go to Chinatown!

I'll make my usual suggestion, which is to buy a guidebook or two, instead of depending on the luck of the draw with strangers who happen to be online. Personally, I can't imagine coming to NYC without doing museums, and Nobu would never be my first choice, unless you're a fanatic about that particular kind of food.
