One of my best friends is graduating college soon, with a BA in communications, and she is planning to move to NY after graduation to start her career. I was wondering what the most safest places to live are that are close to NYC or in NYC. I also would like to know if anyone has any suggestions on some what she is in for. I am absolutely worried about her but I am so proud of her and I just want her to have the best experience she can, she isn't a stupid girl she has good street smarts. But NYC is nothing like were she lives and any suggestions on job hunting? Apartment places? We are just now starting to hunt for good ideas. How much money will she need for a safe apartment?? Door man would be nice. She has already visited the city and she loves it. Entertainment ideas would be great too. Not drugs or drinking entertainment. She isn't looking to party she is looking for a career like I said before. We just want to study everything we can before she figures out the perfect place for her. Thanks for the help!

Well, for starters, New York is a big city. Just by saying "I want a safe nabe, can you help me out?" Isn't going to help that much. Does she wants to live in the city or the outer boroughs? How much money is she planning on spending for an apartment? How far is she willing to commute via subway? Is she willing to have a room mate? There are so many questions, I don't know where to start.
