I'm guessing that it's in the $950-1000 range but keep in mind that Mosholu Pkwy gets nicer as you go away from Jerome Avenue, especially on the Bedford Park side. MP and Jerome isn't particularly the most attractive part; it's very urban
it is probably safe for an 18 year old but that particular corner is very busy

I agree with rlrl, Mosholu Parkway is much nicer farther east and south. I don't know crime stats for that area or average rents unfortunately.

Know the area very well. Overall it isn't bad. Of coarse some blocks are nicer than others but if you can name the block you are looking to move to, I can pretty much give you a better answer.
Jerome is a busy commercial street with a ton of stores. What I don't like about Jerome Ave is the Clinton H.S. students that are rowdy. However there is a big police presence during school hours to deter any kids acting up.

Kossuth is a quiet block with only a few buildings which results in less activity due to the lower density in population on the block. North Central Bronx Hospital is right there so you will always see professionals walking around that area. I go there quite often and I've hardly see any people hanging out on that block.
I would say Knox Place is a bit tougher than Kossuth simply because it is more populated, especially with a lot of teenagers and you know how teenagers act. They don't bother nobody but they could get loud sometimes which can be viewed as a nuisance to many. But overall it is a pretty decent block. It has improved alot from the 80's and 90's, but then again so has the whole NYC. I would say Gates Place, the block behind Knox Place is tougher with more teenagers and young people. As long as you are not involved in any riff raff, you don't hang out and look for attention and mind your own business, you should be fine. There are several buildings on Knox that are desirable, quiet and well managed. Try 3439 Knox Place, 3451 Knox Place, 3425 Knox Place and 3434 Knox Place. Those are the best buildings on Knox. Can you say which building on Knox you were interested in?

Studios in the area go for about $850-$950
One Bedroom apartments go for $950-$1,100 and GUT renovated apartments go for $1,200+
All depends on the quality of the building and apartment as well as the square footage. All these play a factor in price.
