not true . under many programs the rent is totally market or above day 1 . the landlord only agrees to hold increases to what they are allowed going forward . there are 3500.00 a month stabilized studios and 5k two bedrooms right on chrystie st

Great advice; suck it up and let the landlord cheat you.

It tells you if you apartment is rent stabilized and tells you who to contact if you have any issues. Don't just accept anything in NY, especially when it comes to real estate. Get informed!!!
