I just found out today that I'm certified for the development. Does anybody have any information about how long the wait is? I asked the lady and I was told that she has no idea.

I'm ONLY looking for responses from people that actually have lived or know someone that has lived in one of the developments that would be knowledgeable about their process.

Thank you in advance

You'll get called to Red hook pretty fast. Everyone I know that lives in Red hook first had their applications with some other development which was taking forever but as soon as they moved it to Red Hook they got called right away. Just to let you know the F train doesn't stop at Smith & 9th Street because of construction work and the buses take a long time.

first of all thank you for you response. the no train/slow bus would be a pain but i would just be happy to have a place to live, so that i can deal with.

but can you give me a little bit more detail if you know...

for your friends do you remember if by getting called right away you mean for example (2/3 weeks), or longer ((3/4 months) or longer like (6 months).

the reason i'm trying to get specifics is because i have heard some people waiting a year and then others a few weeks and others somewhere in between.

i'm just hoping that my bad luck turns around and they give me a call in 2 weeks.

but i guess hearing what your friend's time line was will make me feel better. i'm just stressed about this happening quickly

good luck to you!!

i still have not been called for an apartment. it's ridiculous considering that my application was messed up for two years by the applications department (in other words i should have been certified back in dec 2009)

i've complained to everyone and nothing has been done. i've come to the realization that they really don't care. i'm just trying to survive paying rent that i can barely afford until i graduate and can get a decent job.

the only positive thing i can say is maybe you'll be called sooner if you've unfortunately dealt with domestic abuse or if you have kids. i think people in those situations get top priority.
