NYC has almost 1 million Jews, although they are decreasing due to many moving in to the suburbs and other parts of America or Israel. Jews are well accepted in N.Y. for the most part. Once I saw svatzika drawn in Downtown Manhattan on a a bench.
When I was in Army Basic Training, a guy from rural Minnesota, who found out I was Jewish, one evening started slowly circling me, around and around he went. I asked him why? His reply was that he was looking for the horns in my head. That's what he had been taught, that Jews had horns in their head, and I was the first actual Jew he met and so he went looking for my horns.

I had a conversation with an eastern european dude at a bar. I turned out he was a KISS fan. I asked him did you know that Gene Simmons was born in Haifa, Israel? Do you mean he is jewish he replied. I said yes all members are. Im going to.burn all my Kiss records he yelled hysterically. I said are u serious...he said no but he was pale and his hands were shaking. True story.
