oh man i didn't know that. the last time i was on a greyhound some guy chiefed a joint in the bathroom then came out and pointed at me like i was the one who did it...bus driver had pulled the bus over into a parking lot with some greyhound "authorities", yanked me off the bus and said I wasn't going anywhere. It got to the point where I yanked the high ex-con off the bus, furious Bruce Banner to Incredible Hulk style before he finally admitted it. Terrible experience. Hope there's not too many drug addicts on that bus. They lost my luggage too for about a week. Hate greyhound. But I love dogs.
Wow. How did they loose your luggage, where you on multiple legs? I only took it once to VA because I didn't feel like driving. We ended up breaking down in Newark for 3 hours and I ended up renting a car out of Newark Airport anyways.
In my experience, Bolt is reasonable and not full of so much.... riff raff.
yeah, i took it from texas to california. would have flown but i lost my i.d. yeah, i can't imagine bolt being worse than that. that was about 10 years ago too, so maybe they've gotten better. Probably different going 30 hours compared to 4 or so.
I have noticed the crowds waiting for Bolt and Megabus, and both seem to be normal, a cross-section of people, actually. None would give any concern to me, at first glance, i.e., it does not appear that the bus consumers are the denizens of the Port Authority and other similar bus stations. I would say that there seem to be more college-aged, and young adults, but I also see seniors waiting for the buses as well.

I've been, but I didn't go on Bolt - I did one of the scruffy Chinatown busses. I sat next to a guy who, idiotically, brought only a laptop with a movie, and was clearly at loose ends for the rest of the trip, so I had pity on him and lent him some of my reading matter.
Chinatown buses don't have very good safety records. They overwork their drivers, which causes driver fatigue, and I am not sure the buses are in good condition. I have seen many stopped on the side of the highway (presumably because of some mechanical problem) between NY and Boston.
It makes sense to pay the extra $5 - $10 bucks and go with a company with higher standards.
yeah, the last thing i need is a disgruntled bus driver. one that flys all over the road and destroys every tree branch even close to the curb. i'll pay more than 10 bucks, i'll pay 50 if i have to.
no way. that sounds crazy, but i guess it's possible. son of a!!!
