Why don't you do a trial run at 3 am some night and see how it feels. That should help you make up your mind.

I don't know, not my thing. I've been accosted before at a train station in Queens during the day by a man pressing his entire body up against my back and following me that way for three or four steps until I screamed at him and he ran off, so I'm not trying to be on a train for the whole ride from first to last stop at 3 am.

Well that answers your own question...you MUST take a cab or a car service. So, Grossing about $500 and Netting about $400. Do you want to give half of that to cabbies?
Your answer has to be a loud NO!

Personally, I seeonly two rational alternatives: take the train to Flushing or scratch the job offer. Now if you were netting $2000 a week the cab choice would make more sense.

Another wrinkle, Any guesses how many cabs will refuse the 3 AM fare between LES and FLUSHING when in that time they could have 5 Manhattan fares. A lot of people are staggereing around at that time looking for short LUCRATIVE cab riides. "I'm going to Flushing" will leave you stranded more times than not.

yikes - sorry to hear that.

But it looks like you answered your question here.

Given that you can't take the train, it maks no sense financially to take the manhattan job. You should stay in Queens and look for a job there.

1. Stay in Queens and find a job with a better commute.

2. Start looking for affordable apartments in Manhattan if you would prefer to have a late night job there.

3. Get a car/moped/vespa.
