Hello everyone, I am in need of a little help.
Coming from New Jersey this weekend and would like to see the 9/11 memorial.
When coming to the city (usually uptown) I usually drive, but the garages cost a fortune. Being from Northwest part of NJ we don't use public transportation, so I am not really that comfortable doing this. I know taking a train is also an option, but then again that is not cheap when you have a family involved.

Are they any places on the street that I would be able to park to visit this site, then I would take a subway up to see the tree, and grab lunch/dinner, and then come back for my car.

Any suggestion would really be appreciated as the best way to do this, or would I be better off going uptown and taking the subway down to the site. Again I will have to locate subway routes.

Best I can think of is possibly parking by the Path train in NJ and taking that into Manhattan. Would still probably be cheaper in the end (and less frustrating) than parking anywhere in the city and dealing with tunnel traffic.

Go into Jersey City and park either at Newport or Grove and take the PATH to the WTC (Newport station requires a change at Grove on weekends.) You can find street parking but it might take going round the block a half dozen times.

Make sure you reserve your passes online a day or so in advance.

Hoboken has parking garages near the PATH Station. Not cheap but cheaper than the city.
