Hey, I may not like these gun laws, but I prefer job availability, convenience, and a relatively good public transport system is hella more important than my wish to own a firearm. Especially since Crime in NYC is quite overblown. (I live in a safe[er] neighborhood mfos).

So I definitely don't think its irresponsible to stay in NYC. Especially since a premises permit can be obtained. For a city like NY, even I have doubts on letting anybody CCW.

yep, no one is making you visit NYC, much like no one is making me visit any state that has cut spending to Planned Parenthood.

Too bad the tradeoff mentioned had nothing to do with safety, or even approving of the gun laws.

Ok, on that basis, please advise me on where a responsible citizen should move, then. Considering various "rights" which are often infringed upon, I'd like to find a locality where, at a minimum, drugs are legal, open container laws are abolished, local zoning laws and building codes are greatly curtailed, nobody sits in jail awaiting trial for more than a day or two, and justification for probable cause has been greatly reduced.
Better yet, just find me a place where there is nothing more than a complaint-based sheriff's office with no standing constabulary on patrol, as was the norm in this country not so long ago. I'll tell you what- join any one of those causes, and I'll rally for your right to carry an uzi around Central Park.

Default What NYC Gun Laws Really Mean

This poor woman. Terrorized and sexually assaulted by a brute who broke into her home while she was there, because she had no way of protecting herself. And in NYC, this is how the law requires her to be.

911 Caller Without Gun in Home Invasion - YouTube

And according to Mayor Bloomburg and NYC gun laws, if this happens to you, too bad.

No guns (even in your home) for self-protection allowed. No human dignity.

In NYC, just be a victim, and let the police write a report.

If she didn't have a gun in her home, that was by her choice. Learn the laws before you come back spouting off again.

And in liberal-land NYC, it's not a choice. In NYC, if you protect yourself, you get arrested. This is insanity.

When did the people of NYC get their flame of freedom estinguished? How did you come to lose your spirit of being a free people? When did you forget what America is all about? How did you get turned into sheep?

Face the laws and deal with their consequences before you spout off again.

No, the thing is you can still get a premises permit. You just can't carry. Not too mention they're lowering the registration fees.
