What are some good sit down restaurants Uptown/the Bronx? Harlem, Washington Heights, Inwood, South Bronx, West Bronx? Castle Hill, Parkchester, Pelham Parkway, Beford Park, Norwood, Throgs Neck, City Island, ect?

Garden Cafe and Indian Road Cafe in Inwood are both very nice. Garden Cafe's decor is kind of a very light riff on the Cloisters (right nearby). GC also has a patio in the back. Food is inexpensive but great. Indian Road Cafe is a cozy upscale cafe/pub with all locally sourced food (or mostly). They're famous for their lobster mac and cheese. Service can be SLOW but it still very friendly.

Oh also New Leaf Cafe, in Fort Tryon Park, is EXCELLENT, probably the best of the three.

These are a few likes for me in the Bronx:

Jakes in Riverdale (good atmosphere, decent steak, older crowd though)
Black Whale in City Island
Bronx Ale House in Riverdale/Spuyten-Duyvil, Bar with good food and good selection of beer, good crowd
Patricia's in Morris Park (nice place but loud, good italian food but pricey since they renovated, 40s something crowd oftentimes)
Bruckner Bar & Grill in Mott Haven/Port Morris, most transplants, "hip", good atmosphere, decent food, almost everyone who has ever worked there is Israeli (owners are which is why).

These are just off the top of my head but there are much more, especially around Arthur Ave.

I like Dominick's on Arthur Avenue.

In Harlem I like Dinosaur BBQ and the Harlem Tavern on 116th & 8th. I've been to a few others in that neighborhood but I'm struggling to remember the names right now.

I love the Black Whale, every thing is delicious and reasonably priced. I just hate being cramped in there, the space is way too small.

There's also a Patricia's on Tremont Ave. in Throggs Neck. IMO, much better service than the MP location and there's much more parking if you drive, including their own lot.

I love the Green Dragon in TN for Chinese. Hawaii Sea (Westchester Square) is also a decent choice. I'd stay away from Tosca, I find them highly overrated.
