Hi folks! I've lived in North Carolina almost all my life (Charlotte and Raleigh). But I think it's time for me to move. I've been graduated with my Masters in Social Work for almost a year, and I've had no luck with jobs, and I'm getting sick of all these dead end interviews. I'm thinking of moving to the City area to look for work, but I have no idea where to start. I have family living in Brooklyn, and in Jersey, but I wouldn't even know where to start looking for nonprofit work. Someone help! Where do I look? Who's hiring?
Even if you could find a job, the pay w/b incredibly low, leaving you barely able to support yourself (and certainly not independently). Low paying field in an incredibly expensive city, not a good combo!
And I'm aware it's low-paying. I certainly didn't get into non-profit for the money. But currently, I work 3 jobs, and I'm willing to work hard, and long at whatever or wherever I'm at. Hoping to stay with family until I could find a place, so that would help as far as rent/utilities.
