I'm not 100% clear about who you are suggesting should profit somewhere else. The families who have owned businesses there for decades or the developers that want to teach them the apparent true meaning of ownership in this country?
The developers. That is such an isolated pocket in Queens.
And get over there soon to see it before it disappears forever!
Lol!
All of Willets Point history is about to be destroyed and Queens will never be the same again. Where oh where can we find another area like this in Queens or in NY?! We just can't.

As with the OP, it is very obvious that you would like nothing more than every square foot of this city to resemble midtown for some reason. But tell me, where can you find another area like it? Also what are your thoughts on billionaires seizing people's multi-generational businesses against their will to up their own net worth? Half of them who probably never even knew queens existed until 10 years ago. How would you feel if a business that your great grandfather built with his hands was about to be taken away because a few suits would like to become a little richer?

Nope, I'm just tired of people saying things are being destroyed when someone wants to develop an area. I'll admit I don't know much about this area but if you can link me to articles/videos of the owners trying to salvage their businesses and ask for help OR make it better on their own expense, then maybe we can debate. But from where I'm standing this isn't too bad.
Nothing lasts forever. Nothing, so please spare me with how you personally feel.
