Good think you say that. i think it was 1 week or 2 after it happened, I could smell the burnt out of my school's window (in Woodside, Queens) and my teacher swore the smell was gone. I still haven't forgotten about that.

I saw someone on Wall Street and Broadway walking with a gas mask on! It was shocking, but he was smart, God only knows all the toxic crap everyone downtown was breathing in

I was at school in the UK, my mum came down to collect me and told me what had happened. My dad was in NYC for business that week and was due to be at WTC 1 at 9am on the 11th. He had gone out with his partners the night before and all had drinks, someone decided to postpone the meeting till 10.

I remember my mum trying to call the hotel where he was staying but couldn't get through to them, it was 2 days until my dad finally called to say that he had been there anyways at 9am and had seen everything, to this day he will not watch a single documentary or even talk about it. It's like it took a piece of him.

I cannot imagine what some of you guys went through and I hope and pray nobody ever has to again.

I was getting ready to go to work and got a call from overseas to turn on my TV to watch news. The caller wouldn't say what was happening as they claimed I wouldn't believe it. So I turned on the TV in time to see the 2nd plane hit the 2nd tower. Needless to say, I never went into work that day.

I was in my senior year in HS several blocks from WTC. In the basement computer lab during class. Shortly halfway through class, the school was evacuated and everyone was sent home as the first tower was burning. Saw it burning and all the smoke from outside the school. Eventually I saw both crumble and melt on the only channel remaining (Channel 2), the other channels were just static because the other broadcast stations were using the WTC antenna.
