Does anyone know of any programs that can help you get housing for low income besides filling out for lottery apts and nycha apts?

What's up MzINeedNYCHA, what's good girlfriend? There are no more housing programs available in NY. All the hood people snatched them up. They're all gone girlfriend. Your best bet is to move out of state where the cost of living is much cheaper.

As far as I know, the only "vouchers" are section 8 vouchers with a couple sub-categories. As far as I know the waiting lists for these vouchers is TERMINALLY long.


But there are a lot of deals that don't involve vouchers if you qualify.
Start here:
NYC Affordable Housing Resource Center
(choose selection on left side.)

And here:
HPD - Apartment Seekers - Current Housing Lotteries

You can sign up for e-mail at the second site and they'lll notify you as each deal comes through and what the requirements are.


But forget vouchers, if you don't have one now, you won't get one.

I hope not. NYC gives out too much free money as it is. Unfortunately you may have to look into one of those apartment shares in the middle of Bushwick. Or you could just move somewhere cheaper.
