Anybody been to emmons ave in Brooklyn? I drove through and it looks great, but never went into any places.

What are your thoughts on the place?

Wasn't there a place called lenny's Clam House there in the early 80's-I recall a commercial for the place around '82 or so

Great place to shop, dine and hang out.

I always found great bargains at Loehmann's (in the later years, right before I moved), and we used to love going to Lundy Brothers for my birthday. Roll 'n' Roaster was a hangout spot for us when I was in high school. Randazzo's is a great place to eat too. If Pips is still there, we always had some nice nights out there. And, of course, the movie theater is a hop skip and jump away. I mentioned in another topic that last time I was down that way, the neighborhood was looking a little shabby. At least in my opinion.

What is that neighborhood called, and what is the rest of the area like?

That area is the southernmost point of, or roughly, Sheepshead Bay.

I live in this area.

It is Sheepshead bay. The street faces the actual bay, where fishing recreational charter boats are moored.

Randazzo's is great. It's a genuine old-school Clam bar with great Italian seafood dishes. Sit down at the counter and introduce yourself to Emilio. He'll remember your name the next time you come back. Or, hang out on the picnic tables outside and get clams at the window.

I haven't lived here long, but I understand that the beloved old neighborhood institution, Lundy's, is gone forever. The big building remains. There were rumors of an Outback Steak House opening in it.

Speaking of change, there are now several Russian restaurants and nightclubs along the strip, reflective of the growing Russian presence in Sheepshead Bay.

Default Dr.Maria Ventouras

Emmons Avenue is a very beautiful section of Brooklyn. The surrounding area is very nice as well. However, on Emmons Avenue you are across from the water and can frequent many restaurants, etc. Check it out. It is a nice place if you would like to visit it from where you live.

Yes it is a very horrible neighborhood and you will run into Russian mafiosos. They're easy to spot because they always wear black suits or similar and drive European luxury cars like Mercedes-Benz and Land Rovers, always in black. I know this because I work as a "liaison" between the Russian Mafia and several DTOs. We have a little quo pro quo going on right now. It's only going to get worse.

So naive...
