Hi,
I am re-transplanting back to Queens coming from Texas. Question, Would it be safer to take the LIRR and/or the Subway into Jamaica from 6pm to 10Pm Mon.-Thurs. or driving my car be safer? I think I will be coming from Lynbrook, or the Floral Park area but not sure yet. I will be attending night school in Jamaica. Thanks for any advice !!!!!!!!!!!!
****PS***....I'm an Ozone Park Kid from the 70's finally coming back home.
I live on 173 and liberty it's very quite and no issues I use to live in Rosedale queens and area had its share of burglary, shootings can everyone who don't live in Jamaica please shut up??
I work on liberty and 183rd. I wouldnt feel safe taking the subway that time of night, your better off driving .Its not as bad as some of the worst parts of Jamaica, but its not a great area.

good for you, I grew up in the Liberty Ave./ 185th street area in the 70's, I left in '88 and haven't been back since. My grandfather used to live in So. Ozone Park and we hung out there on the regular. I dream of going back (that's why I hang out in the NYC forum regularly lol )
At night time I would be mindful of my surroundings around that area
