I was part of the '70s West Village scene too, for a few years. I'll pour some STP into my feeble memory cells and see if anything interesting bubbles up. No photos, sorry.

I would have loved to have visited the village during the late 50s, early 60s during the folk revival era. If anyone could share any stories about that time, I'd love to hear it. The do the time warp R H era doesn't hold much appeal for me.

Christopher Street on a sultry weekend was mostly white until pretty much the 1990's. Then the gays moved North to Chelsea and the West Village became mostly ethnic gay as it is now.

But curiously VERY few people now on the streets at midnight actually live anywhere near Greenwich Village (West) which is now a mix of uber-wealthy and poor old rent stabilized old timers, neither of whom hit the streets very much.
The ethnic crowd comes in on subways.
