So I got a letter saying I can begin the employment process for Traffic Enforcement Agent. I took that exam 2 YEARS ago and forgot all about it. In that time I went to achool and became an EMT.

Anyway, after this process(paperwork, medical evaluation, physch evaluation etc) how long does it take to actually start work? Or should I say fuxk it, and continue on with EMT? Im not leaving emt btw, until I actually get hired.

TEA makes more money then Im gettin as a EMT as well. Thats pretty sad actually. Ill make more money writing summonses, then saving lives? Somethings not right here Mr. Bloomberg.

What is the pay for meter maids these days?

I usually say follow the money, but think about the career path. Surely there's more upwards progression as an EMT, and valuable work experience if you want to become an LPT, RN, or MD. What do you want out of life? That's the real question.

I want to be a paramedic. I wont fully stop emt. If my company lets me, Ill do per diem. Like once a week. Just so I can stay on top of skills and things.

I imagine it's easier to get per diem EMT work than a permanent position--at least that's how it is for CNAs (my wife is studying to be one).
