Hi, guys just wondering if I can take LIRR and then a cab to the Islanders stadium or is there bus service from Manhattan? Like a game night bus or something I should lookinto?
I want to go to the Bruins Islanders game (I am a bruins fan)
Also if I wear Bruins stuff will I get beat up by the Islanders fans? How bad is the crowd?
How much would a cab fare be back and forth from the stadium? Or is it walking distance to the train?
Also can I buy tickets day of the game? Or would bruins-islanders be a harder to find ticket?
You can take the LIRR to Hempstead and then take a N70/71/72 or use a cab. Definitely use a cab leaving, though, since the buses probably won't run by the time the game is over. I don't know how much it would cost for a cab since I never use them. Getting to that area is a real pain, and I'd be surprised if there were any bus from as far away as Manhattan.
Tickets shouldn't be hard to get since Nassau Coliseum has had attendance problems for a while (lol suburban fanbase). The crowd there is also fairly tame compared to the other arenas in the league. I wouldn't worry about getting assaulted, although anything could still happen.
Some folks over on the Long Island forum may know more since you'll find people from Nassau county there.
